GE range cooktops carry no standard numeric error-code system, so surface-side problems are diagnosed by symptom: a gas burner that clicks but won’t light usually means a dirty or misaligned igniter or a clogged burner port; a burner with a weak or uneven flame often points to a partially blocked port or a low-flow regulator issue; and an electric or radiant element that won’t heat typically traces to a failed element or its infinite switch. Induction cooktops on GE Profile and Café ranges may show a model-specific problem indicator for cookware not detected or an overheating condition, which we verify against the specific unit’s manual before treating as diagnostic.
