The GE GTW680BSJWS is a current GE top-load washer. A widely serviced mid-tier GE top-loader — motor/inverter failures (E42) show up as overload trips, while a locked-door complaint (E45) is almost always an overloaded, unbalanced load.
GE washers (GTW top-load family) with electronic controls read E codes: E22 (slow fill), E23 (slow drain), E30 (no signal from the drain pump), E42 (motor or inverter, often from overloading), E45 (door thinks it is locked), and E58 (main control).
