The GE GFW450SSMWW is a current GE ENERGY STAR front-load washer with steam. Front-load GE washers add a door-lock and boot-seal to the standard problem list — a door code (E45) here is more often an unbalanced load than a hardware failure.
GE washers (GTW top-load family) with electronic controls read E codes: E22 (slow fill), E23 (slow drain), E30 (no signal from the drain pump), E42 (motor or inverter, often from overloading), E45 (door thinks it is locked), and E58 (main control).
