The GE GTD38GASWWS is a current GE gas dryer with reversible door. An entry-tier GE gas dryer — vent-blockage overheating (E3) and a worn thermal fuse are the most frequent service calls.
GE dryers (GTD family) with electronic controls read E1 (thermistor failure), E2 (high-limit thermostat tripped or inlet thermistor short), and E3 (exhaust over-temperature, usually a blocked vent — clean the vent before further use).
